Being Faithful: Why the Little Things Matter
“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much” Luke 16: 10.
I believe we can learn almost everything we need to know and be sufficiently transformed by the Holy Spirit just by being faithful with the little life the Lord has given us right now.

The Little Things
If we’re faithful with the little responsibilities He’s given us right now, it proves we’ll also be faithful with more. It’s so important to be dedicated to the small obligations in order to be promoted to the next level of responsibility.
It’s easy to decide to exercise regularly, do it for a few months and then get slack. Or to not go to some class or meeting we’ve obligated ourselves to because we don’t feel like it.
Or to be irritable with our loved ones when we’re tired, or stressed, or not feeling well. And use that as an excuse.
But these little things are very important in revealing our true character. And if we want to be trusted with more, and have greater levels of stewardship, we have to be dedicated to these little things.
Because if we’re not, despite what we may think, we wouldn’t be faithful if the Lord gave us more.
We need to go through disasters and calamities to grow in character and become mature (James 1: 3, 4).
Being Faithful in the Everyday Stresses Is Enough
The everyday ups and down and stresses and problems of life are sufficient to do this. If we make the effort to be faithful in them.
And if we are trustworthy with the small responsibilities of everyday life, we eventually become mature. Not only that, but we will prove ourselves trustworthy to be given greater responsibility.
If we can be faithful, reliable and trustworthy with the little life and responsibilities the Lord has given us right now, it shows we would also be faithful, reliable and trustworthy with much more.
